staff of seasons.
althea's heirloom from golmarr village, recovered later on following her time in kugane. the wood had been generously offered by an elder tree from her home, & soon after, crafted & forged into a living staff by her tribe. it was made to serve as a catalyst & channeler for her tribe's soothsayers & speakers, tying in seamlessly with their magical affinity.the cane is alive, enchanted with the life of the forests that she heralds from, which changes with the seasons. pine & holly for the winter, red lilies & trailing vines for the spring, eucalyptus & crocosmia for the summer, & doman maple leaves & golden mums for the fall. there's a haunting, yet calming glow that emits from the staff's blooms, & it seems to reflect althea's wellness both physically, & mentally.

pixie familiars.
being that althea is consistently in touch with the dream-world & the ethereal plane, she has frequent visits with the fae, most of which have occurred in lyhe mheg. she's learned from them, & finds herself offering to play games & tell riddles in exchange for knowledge of lyhe mheg, & how to improve her gift.in addition to this, althea has found that she has grown fond of the fae, as much as they've taken a liking to her. so much to the point of offering a means of the fae to easily traverse between the first & the source, by the means of a fae door that hangs on the wall beside the entrance to her home. should she ever require assistance with a particularly difficult dream, the fae are simply three knocks away. a few regularly visit her home to partake in her cooking, especially her home-made cookies.

flowers & plants.
with plenty of free time at home, & her affinity for botany & earth-tending, althea has a vast array of flowers & plants alike that decorate her home. it was a bit overgrown when she had accepted her gifted cottage, but with a little bit of love & careful maintenance, she's turned the morning glories, vines, & ivy into a beautiful focal point of her exterior.on the inside, the floors, tables, & windowsils are all littered with countless potted plants & flowers, alongside vines from her exterior that have made their way into her home. it's a marvel how she's able to find space for anything else, but somehow, she finds a way.

basic etiquette *

1.   don't godmod. i won't try to control your character; don't try to control mine.
2.   don't interact with me purely with the intent to ship. i'm not looking for anything romantic for althea at this point in time. she is not shipping fodder, please don't treat her as such.
3.   don't throw extremes at me without consent. if you're looking for a more violent interaction, althea isn't the best character for that. additionally, anything crazy or extreme requires some plotting from both ends. i'd rather avoid it for interactions with folks i don't know too well.
4.   try to sound coherent. this is an iffy one considering that english isn't everybody's first language. but with that being said, please try to use proper punctuation / spelling when writing with me.
5.   don't ask for my mare right away. yes i have it, but i'm not comfortable with immediately sharing it with people i don't know very well. as such, it remains exclusive to friends. to me, mare is not a prerequisite for rp, and if that is an issue for you, we're likely not a very good match interaction-wise.
6.   this is a bit of an odd one to mention, but don't get all buddy-buddy with me for free art. this happens a lot, and i'm getting very tired of it. i hardly draw for myself as it is nowadays and people just befriending me for free art is really disheartening, and is starting to get old.

preferred themes *

any mystical / magical themes are right up althea's alley. she's the kindly & motherly type, & is always looking for more company; as such, more personal & soft themes are something i've got a weak spot for. lastly, i'm also a big fan of darker / more mature themes as well, but ultimately this relies heavily on our level of communication throughout our interaction process, and whether or not our characters are the right fits for each other with those themes.i'm down for almost anything. at the end of the day, all it falls down to is plotting. please talk to me! i'd love to sort something out between our blorbos.

anything referencing sexual or physical abuse are completely off the table. this is not up for discussion in any capacity. i'd rather avoid abusive themes altogether, as they're quite triggering for me. and while i'm not against the idea of more mature interactions, i don't want our interactions to only revolve around those themes. althea is not a sex doll, please don't treat her like one. gore is okay, but please do not describe gore in excessive detail. i've got a weak stomach, and brutal / horrific bloody scenes that are described in stephen king style detail just aren't something that sit well with me.

— - being called the "warrior of light" is a title that's seen & held in such a high regard; she's seen as the hero, the savior, the solution, the answer, the hope that eorzea has held onto, all this time. but, even knowing of the countless lives she's saved, althea couldn't begin to describe the grief that she's felt throughout her journey, & the trauma that her time as the warrior of light & darkness has brought upon her.althea has hardly felt like herself ever since the dragonsong war. between having lost so many, & being told to be the protector of the people without much regard to her mental & physical wellbeing, she's well beyond tired. but, after having to bring about the end of hydaelyn, the mothercrystal, & then watching her companions vanish in front of her very eyes— althea had finally broken.even with their return from the end of the universe, after the events of endwalker, she's now merely a shadow of who she used to be— quiet, reluctant to develop new bonds, or make new friends. althea does not proceed through to the events of dawntrail; her sister, vera golmarr, takes her place as the warrior of light with hydaelyn's final blessing. althea can commonly be found in the east shroud in this au, spending her days in solitude, occasionally allowing visits from a select few companions.^{— ✧ note, althea is very quiet & much less at peace in this au. tw for implied ptsd & other dark themes.}
